Houston – A Texas mother of two is behind bars after allegedly leaving her young children home alone for nearly a week while she went on a cruise. After telephone tips from neighbors, police officers found the 29-year-old Texan's six and eight-year-old children literally alone in a high-rise apartment in Houston.

reports, deputies from Harris County Precinct 5 Constable Ted Heap's Office responded to concerned calls last April (April 9) with a welfare check at the home of Lakesha Woods Williams, 29. They found the brother and sister alone at home. According to the records, the apartment smelled of urine and was littered with trash and leftover food.
The children told officers that their mother had gone on vacation alone. According to police, Williams initially flew to Miami to take part in the Caribbean cruise to Puerto Rico.

Officers discovered a web camera and cell phone that the mother was using to "check in" on her children while she was out and about. What if there is a bad neighbor? There are a number of horror and nightmare scenarios that could have occurred.”
