Highlights: The idea came about spontaneously at the Christmas concert at the Dorfen high school in 2022. The three music teachers put together an almost two-hour program with around 35 talents. Young people from the fifth to the twelfth grade showed their skills as soloists on the flute, violin, piano, dulcimer, and marimba. Works from different eras could be heard, from classical to modern. Soloists and ensembles presented from Dorfen to the AFG and the Korbinian-Aigner-Gymnasium to the KAG. The high level of talent was impressive and offered a listening pleasure for parents and grandparents, but a concert at a high level for all music lovers, said headmaster Andrea Hafner. The concert was held in the auditorium of Dorfen High School, which was the host for the first concert. The second concert took place at theAFG, with one musician from each school in Erding taking to the stage.

Dorfen - Around 30 talented people from the three district schools gave the second community concert - a listening pleasure, not just for parents and grandparents.

The idea came about spontaneously at the Christmas concert at the Dorfen high school in 2022: Regine Hofmann, director at the Anne Frank High School (AFG) in Erding, was visiting and was enthusiastic about the many talents at the school, but also noticed that the two Erdinger high schools could also boast great young musicians. She and headmaster Markus Höß then decided to put on a community concert with musical talent from all three high schools in the district. No sooner said than done – and Andrea Hafner, headmaster at the Korbinian-Aigner-Gymnasium (KAG), was immediately on board. “What should I have against such a nice idea?” she said to the local newspaper on Monday evening during the break of the second concert.

After the premiere of the high school collaboration with one musician from each school in Erding took place at the AFG, this time the Dorfen high school was the host. Irmgard Bauer was in charge of the overall concert management, supported by Sandra Högemann (AFG) and Markus Nißl (KAG). The three music teachers put together an almost two-hour program with around 35 talents.

Around 100 listeners came to the auditorium, which made Höß happy. But the musicians deserved even more encouragement, as there were extremely talented musicians on stage, some of whom also study at the university as young students, and not only offered a listening pleasure for parents and grandparents, but a concert at a high level for all music lovers.

“Young Chamber Music” was the title of the joint concert. Young people from the fifth to the twelfth grade showed their skills as soloists on the flute, violin, piano, dulcimer and marimba, and performed in a duo or as an ensemble.

The AFG was represented by a band that offered a room-filling sound with their own creation “Funk Fusion Freestyle”. Two other ensembles even presented across schools.

Works from different eras could be heard, from classical to modern. The high level was impressive. Soloists and ensembles presented flawless pieces, some of which were ten minutes long.

“Music connects us,” stated director Höß and thanked the musicians. At the end of the concert, Hafner took the opportunity to invite people to the Korbinian-Aigner-Gymnasium next year. Because all three school principals agreed: This format should become a tradition.
