A triple Russian missile strike left
“dead, many injured”
Wednesday morning in Cherniguiv, in northern Ukraine, the governor of this territory said on Telegram.
“The enemy carried out a three-missile attack almost in the city center. There are dead civilians, many injured
,” declared Governor Viatcheslav Tchaous in a video published on the platform.
At least four people were killed in the strike, according to the first report announced by the mayor of this city. At 9:03 a.m. local time (07:03 GMT),
“three explosions occurred in the city
,” Mayor Oleksandre Lomako said on national television, reporting
“at least four deaths
. ”
It was a
“direct strike on a social infrastructure building
,” he added.
Cherniguiv is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine, founded more than 1000 years ago, which had almost 300,000 inhabitants before the Russian invasion two years ago, is located about sixty kilometers from the Belarusian border, ally of Russia. Russia bombards Ukrainian cities daily with explosive missiles and drones. Faced with Western aid which is running out of steam and arriving late, Ukraine is increasingly lacking ammunition for its air defense to intercept these devices.
