Almost half of Italians highly satisfied with lives

2024-04-18T18:19:02.580Z

Highlights: Just under half of the Italian population, 46.6%, were highly satisfied with their lives in 2023, Istat said on Thursday. The national statistics agency said this level was stable with respect to 2022. It said the proportion of highly satisfied people aged 25 to 34 rose by 3.5 percentage points to 48.6%. It said this was due to a rise in the number of people who said they were happy with their jobs and living conditions. The survey was carried out by the Italian National Institute of Statistics and Bureau of Statistics (Istat). The figures were published on Thursday by Istat, which is part of Italy's statistical agency, the statistical authority of the European Union (ICI). The study was conducted on behalf of the ICI by a group of experts from the European Council on Economic and Social Research (ECER) and the Italian Institute of Social Sciences (ICSE). It was based on a survey of more than 2,000 people who answered questions on their jobs, living conditions, and family life.
