Beyond the reservists and volunteers who showed up en masse, the first to take the wheel as soon as the war broke out were the local government authorities who, thanks to the relationship with their residents and the combination of the correct formations that were built in the routine, were able to stabilize and manage the chaotic situation, both on their own and with the cooperation of civil initiatives.



Now, the Bloomberg-Segol Center for Urban Leadership at Tel Aviv University, founded by the Jewish billionaire Michael Bloomberg, together with the Israeli philanthropic Segol family, is opening another cycle of the prestigious program for urban leadership whose goal is to support the heads of authorities to provide the best services to their residents to improve the quality of life of Citizens of the State of Israel.



The heads of the authorities chosen to participate - Raid Dhaka - Baka El Grabiyya, Dr. Galit Shaul - Emek Hefer, Lizzy Delriche - Gani Tikva, Yossi Brodani - Givat Shmuel, Nir Ben Haim - Hadera, Habs Elatauna - Hora, Keren Green - Kadima Zoran, Peras Badhi - Kfar Kara, Ido Greenblum - Kiryat Tivon, Yair Rabivo - Lod, Moshe Davidovich - Mata Asher, Daniel Evri - Meshgav, Yaakov Guterman - Modi'in Illit, Ronan Marli - Naharia, Roy Levy - Nesher, Eli Dukorsky - Kiryat Bialik, Eran Doron- Ramat Hanegev, Roi Gabai- Yavneh and Gabriel Gaon- Mezkeret Batia.

The program will last about six months and will deal with imparting advanced management skills that will be taught by the best lecturers in Israel and will focus, among other things, on leadership, team management, negotiation, data-based decision making, innovation in the municipal world, cyber crisis management and more. The program combines imparting knowledge alongside practical skills adapted to the municipal world and also promotes professional networking between the heads of authorities and their managers by the diverse group and through an international professional work standard.



Businessman and philanthropist Yossi Segol, founder of the center said "My partner, Mike Bloomberg, and I are committed to the future of local government and leadership in the State of Israel. We are happy to welcome the 20 new mayors to the leadership program at the Bloomberg-Segol Center for Urban Leadership." Segol added "Precisely at this time, when the State of Israel is facing tremendous challenges, strengthening the local government and the mayors is necessary and necessary. The program is held within the Kohler Faculty of Management at Tel Aviv University under the leadership of Prof. Moshe Tzviran, head of the Bloomberg Sagol Center for Urban Leadership and former dean of the faculty, and under the direction of Ms. Edith Bar, the center's executive director. The program is carried out in close cooperation with the Bloomberg-Harvard Program - the parent program founded by the Michael Bloomberg Global Philanthropy Foundation and Harvard University.
