A man had to escape with his baby in his arms
after a group of armed criminals crossed him with a car in the middle of
Ramos Mejía
street to steal his truck. They threatened him and the little boy was left in the middle of the violent robbery.
The incident occurred this Wednesday night near the intersection of
Cervantes and Argentina
streets , in that town in the La Matanza district, in the western area of the Buenos Aires suburbs, where a man was traveling aboard a white Volkswagen Tiguan truck with his baby.
The sequence - which was recorded on a private security camera - started with a car blocking his path in front of him.
Four armed men got out
of that vehicle
and surrounded the truck.
While two of them threatened the driver and forced him to get off, another opened the passenger door and
the fourth guarded the rear, gun in hand
, so that no neighbor came to the victim's aid. It can be seen in the recording that a delivery motorcyclist, seeing what was happening, quickly flees, making a U-turn to escape the scene.
The driver, pressed by the situation, at no time does he try to resist. He is seen leaving the place
with one hand raised and the other holding his little daughter
. Even as he walks away from him, one of the criminals puts his hands in the victim's pockets, to take out any valuables that he might be carrying.
Finally, one of the thieves takes the driver's place and drives away with the Tiguan, while his accomplices advance in reverse with the car in which they had come to commit the robbery.
This morning, the wife of the stolen driver explained the anguish that the residents of that suburban area live with.
"We put alarms, cameras, sentry boxes, gates out of our own pockets. We live by passing videos to the police because the municipality does not seem to have cameras.
Nobody helps us
. We live spending on security and helping each other because nobody does anything..", said Débora from the door of her home.
The woman told the press that some neighbors told her that, shortly after the robbery,
the same thieves continued committing crimes in the area with their car
.
"There's nothing you can do, this is an area where it happens all the time. Today it's going to happen again, tomorrow it's going to happen again. In a moment it's not going to be news, because you turn on the TV and it's what happens." daily. An armed robbery, they killed one. And nothing happens," he commented, expressing the resignation that they live in the neighborhood.
At the end he left a
message addressed to Fernando Espinoza.
"I don't know if the mayor does anything. He's been here for more than 15 years. It's not something from now. A few days ago he came out to say that they are seeing if they create a security base for Ramos Mejía. Well,
do
something now!
"They are our lives," he exclaimed.
