The heads of diplomacy of the G7 expressed on Friday their opposition to
“a large-scale military operation in
Rafah
”
, which would have
“catastrophic consequences on the civilian population”
.
“We reiterate our call for a credible and logistically practical plan to protect the civilian population there
,” they say in the final communiqué published at the end of their three-day meeting on the small Italian island of Capri.
G7 calls to “prevent further escalation”
The heads of diplomacy of the G7 countries called on Friday
“all parties”
to
“prevent further escalation”
in the Middle East after reports of explosions in Iran.
“In light of the April 19 strikes, we call on all parties to work to prevent further escalation. The G7 will continue to work in this direction
,” they say in the final communiqué.
G7 expresses “strong concern” over Chinese aid to Russia
The foreign ministers of the G7 countries, meeting in Capri, Italy, expressed on Friday their
“strong concern”
about the transfers of Chinese materials to Russia which help the Russian war machine in Ukraine, according to the final communiqué.
“We express our strong concern about the transfers to Russia, from Chinese companies, of dual-use materials and weapons components that Russia uses to strengthen its military production
,” they said according to this press release issued at the end of their meeting.
G7 commits to “strengthening kyiv’s air defense assets”
The heads of diplomacy of the G7 countries pledged Friday to
“strengthen Ukraine’s air defense assets”
against attacks from Russia.
“We express our commitment to strengthening
Ukraine's air defense assets ,

they say in the final communiqué.
“We also work with our partners for this purpose
. ”
