Deadly weekend on the roads: 7 dead in road accidents across the country

Seven people were killed this weekend in road accidents across the country, within just a few hours - this was reported this morning (Saturday) by MDA. In addition, six were seriously injured, 20 were moderately injured, and many others were slightly injured in 26 serious road accidents that happened across the country. The last of them, a 20-year-old man from Afula, was killed this morning in a car overturn near the Baka Jet interchange.

A little after midnight, a 27-year-old man was seriously injured in a car accident near the Tsiporit interchange in Gilboa, along with two others who were injured in a minor condition. He was rushed to Furia North Hospital in serious condition, with multiple systemic injuries.

Two men aged about 50, a volunteer of the national traffic police and a contractor employee of the tributary routes, were run over to death by a truck on Highway 1, near the Inaba interchange near Modi'in. A few hours later, the MDA team had to determine the death of a 20-year-old man who overturned with his car on Route 6 near the Eyal interchange. A 30-year-old man was taken to the Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba suffering from multiple systemic injuries and is in a serious condition.



"We arrived at a serious scene and saw an overturned vehicle With two trapped people," said Alon Spielman, a medic and MDA driver. "We had to determine the death of a man in his 20s. Another injured person was pulled from the vehicle in serious condition with chest, back and head injuries. We gave him life-saving medical treatment and evacuated him to the hospital for further treatment."

Later this evening, the death of a 40-year-old motorcyclist who collided with a vehicle on Route 6 near Kfar Menachem was pronounced dead. The MDA team that arrived at the scene performed medical tests on him, at the end of which they had to pronounce him dead.



"We arrived at the scene of the incident and saw a motorcyclist trapped under the vehicle," said MDA emergency medicine medics Tal Edinger and assistants who arrived at the scene of the accident. "After rescue operations, we conducted medical tests, but the intensive care team had to determine his death."



On Tuesday, Fahad Ataria from Shfaram, a 40-year-old private ambulance driver, was killed while transporting a patient from Haifa to Pardes Hana and stopped on the side of the road to check for a malfunction. A passing vehicle hit him and he was killed. The MDA team that was called to the scene found him without signs of life and pronounced him dead. "Beside the vehicle, a 40-year-old man was lying on the road unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing, with multiple systemic injuries," said Mohammad Tabash, a paramedic at the MDA. "We performed medical tests but his injury was critical and we had to pronounce him dead on the spot."
