Price of the sets, size of the studio, 360° rotating stage: the extraordinary filming of Terminal

The new Canal+ sitcom, co-directed by Jamel Debbouze and launched this Monday, April 22 at 9:10 p.m., required specific needs.

“3, 2, 1, action!”

On October 9 and for a period of six weeks,

Jamel Debbouze

gave, with undisguised pleasure, the first turn of the handle of

Terminal

, the new Canal+ sitcom to be discovered this Monday, April 22 at 9:10 p.m.

“We’ve been thinking about it for 10 years and working on it for 2 years

,” says the comedian and co-director. A time needed to create everything, notably the fifteen or so decorations.

Quickly, the choice of Darkmatters studios located in Tigery (Essonne) became clear. And for good reason, with 3500m2, it is the only place in France large enough to accommodate a plane, a hundred spectators whose laughter will be recorded but also the 360° rotating stand. A complex device from Morocco and unique in the world around which the main decorations are installed: the different parts of the plane (the front cabin crew, the rear cabin crew, the front cabin, the rear cabin and the cockpit), the hall boarding, the rest room, baggage control and the plane bridge. Reconstructed, the plane measures 30 meters long.

Located nearby, additional sets were created such as the office of the psychiatrist played by Stéphane De Groot. For reasons of economy and time, this will also serve as the office of the head of security played by Jamel Debbouze.

All these particularly realistic settings necessarily have a cost, around 2 million euros, Hervé Ruet, executive producer for Quad, agrees to reveal to us. While waiting to know if Canal+ plans to order a sequel -

"I can't imagine life without a season 2"

, hopes Jamel Debbouze - all these sets will be stored in the Loiret, cheaper than in the Paris region.

Nostalgic for the

H

era -

“I will remember this feeling all my life and it has never left me”

- Jamel Debbouze wanted to bring together Ramzy Bedia and Éric Judor. But the latter, due to a busy schedule, had to decline the offer made by the comedian.
