Novak Djokovic beat Argentine Juan Ignacio Londero 6-4 7-6 6-1 to reach the third round of the US Open on Monday.
Djokovic, who underwent shoulder treatment while preparing for the match at Arthur Ashe Stadium earlier, seemed in pain when he asked for treatment after advancing 4-3 in the first set.
The Serbian top seed returned to the pitch to clinch the first set and got another time for treatment before Londero, who only made his second appearance in the main roles on Flushing Meadows, broke twice to lead 3-0 in the second.
Djokovic appeared to have suffered a backhand blow in the third half of the second set at 30-30 and although Leandro was not in good defense, the Serbian failed to make a slight backhand over the net but rose to win five straight games.
