The players of Eintracht Frankfurt have used the weak day of the referee Orel Grinfeld deliberately in their favor in the play-off return leg of the Europa League. "We have noticed that he is not so good in the game," said goalkeeper Kevin Trapp after the 3-0 (1-0) against Racing Strasbourg. Provocations in the direction of the opponents were therefore "a good remedy".
According to Trapp, his teammate Dominik Kohr was almost "made perfect". After a duel, he received the hand of Strasbourg's Dimitri Lienhard (55th minute) in the face - and thus pulled out the opponent's dismissal. "Our coach said we should provoke and see what's going on, it just has to do with cleverness," said Kohr, referring to coach Halter's instructions from coach Adi Hütter.

Red for Ante Rebic (r.)
Already in the first half had come to controversial scenes: Frankfurt Ante Rebic had met after a stingy Strasbourg goalkeeper Matz Sels and a controversial red card seen (44). Then there were tumults in the cabin. Frankfurt sporting director Bruno Hübner then had to pursue the second half from the stands.
"It was very emotional," said Trapp, who criticized the referee for his game management violently: "That was partly freakish and he did not let talk with himself, such an arrogance I have not experienced."
Frankfurt is in the group stage of the Europa League after 3: 0. The first leg had lost the semi-finalist of the preseason 0: 1 in Strasbourg.
