Record series in the Golf over: 114 holes without bogey

She has even trumped Tiger Woods: the South Korean golfer Ko Jin-young played so many holes without bogey like no pro before. In the end, she was glad that the series went by.

It was only a few meters that Ko Jin-young had to overcome. She put her golf club to the putt, played the ball - and had to watch as he passed the hole. It took a few seconds to gather and continue.

With this botched, supposedly simple putt ended an impressive record series in professional golf. South Korean Ko, the world's number one, had previously played 114 holes without ever delivering a bogey, a round over par at one stroke.

Her previous last bogey was undermined on the second hole of the third day at the Women's British Open in early August. At the CP Women's Open, which Ko won last week, she needed 72 times the number of holes punched, 26 times less. The re-bogey hole was now played by Ko at the ninth hole of the opening round of the Portland Classic tournament.

The streak comes to an end after 114 bogey-free holes.

Incredible streak Jin Young!

Jin Young Ko's streak of 114 consecutive bogey-free holes is the longest known streak on the @LPGA Tour or @PGATOUR.

Ko had surpassed the old record of Tiger Woods in their series. The star golfer had set the previous PGA record of 110 holes without Bogey 2000, in the season he had won nine titles. For men, this statistic has only been kept since this millennium.

Ko holds the record for the women as well - and admitted that she also put a strain on the record series: "It's okay, I'm free, I can focus more on my punches and I do not have to think anymore 'Oh no, bogey, Bogey, "Ko said at the Columbia Edgewater Country Club in Oregon.

Ko is the measure of things this year: The 24-year-old has already won four tournaments, including her first two majors ANA Inspiration and Evian Championship. By 2018 she had been awarded the rookie of the year.
