The Minnesota Twins have set a record for most home runs in a season in Major League Baseball (MLB). In the 7:10 defeat of the team with the German professional Max Kepler at the Detroit Tigers Mitch Garver struck the 268th home run of a Twins player in the current season. The New York Yankees set the previous record last year.
Kepler contributed a homerun and may celebrate the next record this season. Two weeks ago he set a record for a European-born player with his 33rd home run. The 26-year-old outperformed the Scottish-born Bobby Thomson of 1951, who emigrated to the United States at the age of two. Kepler now has 36 homeruns.
