2019-09-01T13:58:28.607Z

It is probably THE traditional duel in European football when the Glasgow city rivals Celtic and Rangers meet. At the 418th edition of Old Firm this time again the Rangers had the disadvantage.

Scottish football champion FC Celtic has won the 418th edition of the Glasgow city derby at archrival Rangers. Frenchman Odsonne Edouard (31) and Jonathan Hayes (90 + 3) scored the goals for the 50-time Scottish champion in a hot 2-0 (1-0) ahead of some 50,000 spectators at the sold-out Ibrox Park.

Teammate Neil Lennon leads the Premiership table by three points ahead of the Rangers after Matchday 4's 158th success in the eternal duel of city rivals.

Especially in the first half, the Hoops were the better team. The Rangers, in which Jordan Jones had to leave due to repeated foul play prematurely, were brave only after the break, but could not beat returnees Fraser Forster in the Celtic goal.
