2019-09-02T17:31:29.084Z

The injury, due to which Joachim Löw had missed two international matches, was a broken sternum. This has the coach explained in advance of the next games in the European Championship qualifiers.

Joachim Löw commented on his sports accident at the meeting point of the German national football team in Hamburg. This had meant that the 59-year-old had missed in June for the first time in his 13 -year tenure as national coach internationals. Now he is doing so far ", Löw said:" That was a precaution in the summer. "

He had a barbell on his upper body a few months ago during strength training, which broke his sternum. "That was not the biggest problem, but an artery under it was injured and it was a bit of a source of circulatory problems, which was torn," Loew said. "So it was not that safe, but that was fixed relatively quickly."

The DFB selection will face Hamburg in the qualifiers on Friday in Hamburg on the Netherlands and three days later in Belfast on leaders Northern Ireland (both games 20.45 clock, live ticker SPIEGEL, TV: RTL).
