Handball Bundesliga: Advertising and lottery numbers instead of closing phase

The sudden end of a broadcast of a handball Bundesliga match has caused outrage at ARD spectators. In the match between SC Magdeburg and THW Kiel it was 40 seconds before the end 32:30 for the Magdeburg, as Kiel's Niclas Ekberg took the seven-meter. Instead of the gate and a thrilling final minute the television viewers saw: advertising and the lottery numbers.

Without announcement, the station had switched, the live commentator was interrupted in the middle of the sentence. After the lottery numbers, as usual, the "Tagesschau" was broadcast at 8 pm. Some television viewers criticized the station on Twitter. "What the hell?", "A bad joke" or "a farce" was related to the transmission.

The station also took on Twitter position. "Dear handball fans, we sincerely apologize for the fact that seconds before the end of the dramatic live game Magdeburg - Kiel was apparently switched to advertising due to technical problems," it said. "We are currently analyzing the error."
