The Ethics Committee of the Football World Federation Fifa has the former Vice President Juan Angel Napout blocked for life for corruption. In addition, the former president of the Paraguayan federation and the South American confederation Conmebol must pay a fine of one million Swiss francs (about 913,000 euros).
Napout is considered one of the main culprits in the corruption network of South American football in the allocation of media and marketing rights. Napout was sentenced to nine years in prison by a New York court last year.
