Al-Wathba and Al-Jaish football teams will meet in a strong confrontation today at Tishreen Stadium in Damascus at 4:00 pm in the Super Cup match.
The Super Cup combines Al Wathba Republic Cup champion last season and the army champions league and each seeks to win the title, especially Al Wathba, who aspire to win the second title in its history after the Cup title.
Al-Wathba was crowned Al-Jumhuriya Cup by beating Al-Taleah on penalties 7-6 after drawing in the original and extra time with a goal for the same in the final.
Al Wathba have never won the trophy, playing the final once, losing to Al Karama in the 2007 final with a goal of two, and playing the 2011 final against Al Ittihad, losing one to three.
The Army won the Premier League for the fifth time in a row and seventeenth in its history, with 54 points, leading the overall standings.
