Athletic Bilbao drew 0-0 with hosts Real Mallorca in the Primera Liga on Saturday.
Bilbao had a golden opportunity to snatch the win after taking a penalty in stoppage time with the help of a video adjudication after a handball in the area, but Aritz Adorez missed the penalty saved by goalkeeper Manolo Reina.
Bilbao have eight points from four games while Atletico Madrid lead the standings with nine points from three games and visit Real Sociedad later in the day.
Real have five points and face Levante while Barcelona, who are one point behind Valencia.
