Real Sociedad beat Atletico Madrid 2-0 in the Primera Liga on Saturday.
Former Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard gave the Basque side a lead after 58 minutes in their first game at the stadium.
Newcomer Nacho Monreal doubled Sociedad's lead three minutes later when he took advantage of a mistake from Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oublack, who had to leave later after receiving a header despite objections from the Slovenian keeper.
Atletico remain top of the standings with nine points from four games but Sevilla can beat them to the top if they beat Alaves on Saturday and Sociedad have seven.
