CAF's Independent Appeals Committee (CAF) has rejected a challenge by Wydad Casablanca against the disciplinary committee's decision on the African Champions League final, stressing that Esperance is the champion of the African Champions League.
The Tunisian daily Echorouk said that "the appeal committee decided this evening to accept Wydad's appeal in form and rejection in terms of substance and origin, while confirming the decision of the African Union disciplinary committee, and thus the appeal committee confirms the withdrawal of Wydad from the field and win the match Esperance and the African Champions League."
It is noteworthy that the Moroccan team decided to withdraw from the return match, which was held on the first of June last at the Olympic stadium in the Tunisian city of Rades, when the result indicated the progress of Esperance with one goal to object to some arbitration decisions besides the disruption of the video technology “Far” to stop the game for more than an hour in an attempt To discourage WAC from its decision.
The Moroccan club presented its last argument today before the Appeal Committee at the Confederation of African Football in Cairo, demanding either to repeat the game in a neutral stadium or to declare him a champion of the competition, which was rejected by the committee.
