Slovenian professional cyclist Primoz Roglic from Team Jumbo-Visma is the overall winner of the 74th Tour of Spain. On the last leg of the Vuelta, the 29-year-old former ski jumper on the way to Madrid was no longer attacked, defending his red jersey. After just under 3300 kilometers, Roglic was 2:16 minutes ahead of the Spanish world champion Alejandro Valverde from Team Movistar. The overall podium was completed by Roglic compatriot Tadej Pogacar.
The 21st stage from Fuenlabrada to Madrid over 105.6 kilometers was won by Fabio Jakobsen from the Netherlands. The best German was John Degenkolb in twelfth place.
Meanwhile, the Spanish driver Jesús Ezquerra used the race for something completely different: The 28-year-old from the team Burgos BH made a proposal to his girlfriend while driving. On a video you can see him handing an engagement ring to his girlfriend sitting in a care-car:
She said yes!
