Paris St Germain have confirmed that injured strikers Killian Mbappe and Uruguayan Edinson Cavani will miss Ria's clash with Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani will resume training at the weekend, the club said in a statement.

The pair were injured in the match against Toulouse in the league on August 25.

PSG host Real Madrid on four occasions in the last five years in the first round of Group A in the face of absence from both sides.

Neymar, who returns to the French champions after months of suspension, will be out for suspension, while compatriot Marcelo, Croatian Luka Modric, striker Marco Asensio, midfielder Isco and youngster Ibrahim Diaz will be out of the club.

The French capital club will rely on Argentine Mauro Icardi, who moved on the last day of the summer transfer period from Inter and Cameroonian Eric Maxim Chubu Moting.
