Bayern Munich coach Nico Kovac says his team are looking to start their Champions League campaign with a victory over Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday, with a desire to reach at least the quarter-finals.
"We have a new season and a new luck, so our first goal is to get through the group stage and then our second goal is to go beyond the last season," Kovac told a news conference.
Kovac said that apart from the absence of defender David Alaba due to an injury that would leave him about three weeks away, all other players could participate.
"For tomorrow's game, everyone is 100 percent ready and ready to play," added the coach, who is in his second season as coach.
Bayern, Germany's last seven years, were crowned European champions for the last time in 2013.
Last season, Bayern suffered an early exit from the last 16 against Liverpool, who made their way to the continental title.
