Former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov has retired from football after a 20-year career.

"I played my last game more than a year ago, so I think it's a good time to bring down my career, although the decision is a bit delayed," the 38-year-old wrote on his Instagram page, adding that he intends to stay in the world of football through other roles.

Bulgaria's top scorer has also played for CSKA Sofia, Bayer Leverkusen, Fulham, Monaco and PAOK.
