Al-Ahly won the Egyptian Super Cup for the 11th time in its history after beating its arch-rivals Zamalek 3-2 in a match that brought them together at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria.
Nigerian striker Junior Ajay scored for Al Ahli in the 19th minute, while Ahli midfielder Hassan Al Shahat doubled the lead in the third minute instead of wasting the first half.
Al Ahli striker Junior Ajay returned with his second and third goal for the Reds in the 49th minute.
Zamalek Mahmoud Alaoua reduced the gap with a penalty in the 64th minute and then returned the player himself and scored the second personal goal for him and the Zamalek team in the 76th minute from a second penalty and returned Zamalek to the atmosphere of the game from afar.
With this victory, Al-Ahli strengthens its record in the number of wins of the title, widening the difference to 8 titles between him and his runner-up Zamalek, followed by border guards and Arab contractors with one title each.
