Judo player Sulaiman Rifai preparing for the Arab Championship

Syria's judo player Suleiman al-Rifai has begun intensive preparations with his teammates for the West Asian Championships in Lebanon and the Arabs in Jordan.

Al-Rifai has been winning the title of the republic men's championship for the seventh time in a row for the seventh time in a row.

In a statement to SANA Sports Representative, Al-Rifai said: "We are preparing to achieve good results in the next two tournaments, especially the Arab Championship, which we participate after an absence of several years where our players have a distinguished record and we aspire to record our presence in this tournament to bring back the shine to our game again."

Al-Rifai, who previously won the Arab Championship for Sambo and Kurash in Lebanon in 2014, added that the level of our players is high and is expected to achieve good results that will stimulate the upcoming international tournaments and tournaments, expressing his confidence and great will along with his teammates' determination to achieve what they want to reach the most important sporting event. The 26-year-old Rifai started his game 17 years ago and achieved with the team many achievements, most notably gold in the Arab and West Asian Championships in 2009 in Lebanon and bronze in the Asian Championship in 2012 in China.
