Leipzig's best in the win against Werder: Starbitzer

RB Leipzig marches through the season like a top team. In the 3: 0 against Bremen stood out with Marcel Sabitzer once again a player who is actually not a real Leipzig star - but just one.

The scene of the game: Although Leipzig led with two goals, Bremen was approached by a chance of Davy Klaassen. Leipzig had doubly lucky: After the ball goalkeeper Peter Gulácsi happened, Leipzig's Ibrahima Konaté wanted to beat the ball in his desperation by hand from the gate. In the attempt, the central defender clung to his colleague Dayot Upamecano, who legally cleared the ball with his chest. Upamecano saved his team not only from a direct goal, but probably also in front of a penalty kick including dismissal for Konaté.

The result: Leipzig won in Bremen 3: 0 (2: 0) and remains leader. Willi Orban (13th minute) and Marcel Sabitzer (35th) scored to standards, Marcelo Saracchi scored after a counterattack 3-0 (83rd). Click here for the game report.

Starbitzer: One of the highlights of the day took place before half time. Sabitzer put a free kick to the left in front of the Bremen penalty area and circled him beautifully over the wall into the goal. Sabitzer, who under Ralf Rangnick rarely scored last season, has become the key player for Julian Nagelsmann's RB Leipzig. Actually, he was never a star player at RB, but he's just becoming one. Sabitzer does not consider it impossible that Leipzig will get something countable this season. He said: "We want to stay up there now and finally get a taste of something."

Corner goal: Apart from the failures Werder has a big weakness this season: opposing corners. Bremen conceded a goal against Dusseldorf on matchday one against Hoffenheim on matchday two and against Union Berlin an opposing corner was the starting point for a penalty. It turned out well that one of the most popular players in the Bundesliga was visiting the Weserstadion:

Toxic RB: The prestige project of Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz showed against Bremen that it not only play great football, but in the fight for the championship can also be unpleasant. So Konrad Laimer should have complained after two fouls against Leonardo Bittencouort already in the first half over yellow-red. The dismissal by a handball game was then but unhappy. Even in outnumbered the Leipzig did not come in distress, even in highly competitive games they can obviously hold against it. This is a bad sign for the competition for the championship.

Players wanted, as unharmed as possible

Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt does not laugh well at the moment. But that does not necessarily have athletic reasons, rather he missed ten potential regulars against RB Leipzig. The culmination of the misery before the Leipzig game: The strong so far Niclas Füllkrug tore himself in the game preparation, the cruciate ligament. Kohfeldt had to improvise to send a competitive Elf on the lawn. Nevertheless, it was not enough for points.

Part of Kohfeldt's plan was Christian Gross. The 30-year-old is actually captain of the second team, but may call in the start phase of the season due to five injured defenders but Bundesliga regulars. Next to him Benjamin Goller came to his start-up debut in the Bundesliga, Luc Ihorst played for the first time ever in Germany's Eliteliga.

3: 0 (2: 0) won Leipzig in the Weserstadion, remains unbeaten in the Bundesliga and league leaders. Two of the three scorers scored on this photo: Willi Orban (center, 13th minute) and Marcelo Saracchi (left, 83rd) scored as did Marcel Sabitzer (35.).

The jerseys of the two teams joked before the game. Kohfeldt (left) and Julian Nagelsmann are the two leaders of the new generation of German trainers.

A sight that probably put sweat on Kohfeldt's forehead: Leonardo Bittencourt was lying on the ground after a foul by Konrad Laimer, but luckily he was uninjured. Even otherwise, the game was very hard, but Laimer picked up his dismissal because of a handball.

Football was also played: Orban headed for the Leipzig lead (13). He scored ten of his eleven Bundesliga goals with his head. Or as Florian Pütz wrote in the SPIEGEL live ticker: "Hater say he is not a polyvalent player."

Sabitzer is definitely a polyvalent player type. He is Leipzig's all-rounder, can play in almost any position and shoot beautiful free-kick goals. As here for the meantime 2: 0 (35.).

The Werder fans saw that only a higher power could save their team before the third defeat of the season. So they demanded Claudio Pizarro.

And coach Kohfeldt brought the 40-year-old Peruvian, who made it in about half an hour on the field but not to scoring. Instead, Leipzig countered to the final score.

Coach talents: Leipzig's Nagelsmann and Bremen's Florian Kohfeldt are considered leaders of the new generation of coaches. Both play offensive football and stand for a clear game idea. Nagelsmann had this time apparently dormant balls selected as a means. And that seems to be enough for Werder Bremen this season.

Great on a big stage: apart from Nagelsmann's financial and consequently human potential, the Leipzig coach was able to offer his best starting eleven. And Florian Kohfeldt? Werder has currently felt more injured players than ready. In addition to nine injured Nuri Sahin was also locked. Meanwhile, it is time that Christian Groß is a regular player. The 30-year-old did not go beyond the third league his entire career and moved in the fall of his career in the second team of Werder to give the young regional team on stability. He now takes over from the professionals.
