Ligue 1: No Neymar, no victory for Paris Saint

2019-09-22T21:58:35.191Z

What would Paris Saint-Germain be without Neymar? Possibly a transferring poorer - and not leaders. In the French top match against Olympique Lyon, he scored again the winning goal.

That Paris Saint-Germain still holds the championship lead in the French Ligue 1 after six matchdays, can be reduced to one player. After beating Strasbourg last week, Neymar also scored the decisive goal in the top match against Olympique Lyon for a 1-0 (0-0) finish.

Shortly before the end, Neymar prevailed in a confined space against several defenders and met with the weaker left foot into the far corner (87th). Like his first outing this season, Neymar had been booted again, but this time it was because Paris played away. For Neymar a familiar situation: "I know, from now on, every game will be an away game for me," he said after the home game against Strasbourg.

Previously, Neymar had not played any season game for Paris and openly flirted with a departure. "Everybody knows I wanted to leave because I had my reasons and tried everything but unfortunately they did not let me go," he said.

Ex-Dortmund defenders Abdou Diallo and Angel dí María missed out on the lead before the Brazilian's strike, with Neymar failing in the first half with a free-kick on strong goalkeeper Anthony Lopes.

After the strong 3: 0 against Real Madrid to the Champions League opener, the team of coach Thomas Tuchel was not completely convincing in continuous rain in Lyon. As against Real Tuchel had to do without world champion Kylian Mbappé, Edinson Cavani, Julian Draxler and Thilo Kehrer. In addition, a new signing Mauro Icardi was canceled. After all, Neymar returned, who is still locked in the Champions League one game.

PSG is with 15 points still without loss of points at the top of the table. Angers SCO and OGC Nice each have three points less. Lyon are only ninth after the second defeat of the season.
