Syria's Olympic team will meet its Jordanian counterpart in a second friendly as part of the preparations for the finals of the AFC U-23 Championship which will be held early next year in Thailand.

Our team beat Jordan in the only goal scored by Fares Arnaout in the first friendly match that took place yesterday in the Jordanian capital Amman.

In a statement to SANA, the coach of the national team, Ayman al-Hakim, said that the victory over Jordan in the first game was deserved despite its difficulty.

Hakim said that our team played well in its first international match since qualifying for the finals last March, stressing that our team still needs more friendly matches to increase the harmony between the players.

The Asian Under-23 finals will be held in Thailand early next year and the draw for the finals will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, on the 26th of this month.

The 16 teams qualified for the finals were divided into four levels according to criteria related to the results recorded in the last version and qualifying for the current version. Our team came in the fourth level along with Iran, UAE and Bahrain.
