Fight against sinking viewership
The Super Bowl is the highlight of the American football season. The game and the Halftime Show are among the most watched TV broadcasts in the US. Even though you have recently dropped in viewership numbers: this February, the spectacle in the US attracted the fewest viewers for more than ten years. Still, there were still nearly a hundred million people on average.
The halftime show of the past Super Bowl had been rioting in the run-up: In the dispute over dealing with quarterback Colin Kaepernick last February, according to media reports, top stars like Rihanna, Pink and Cardi B did not perform. Finally, the pop group Maroon 5 led the halftime show - the reviews were not friendly.
