Bengtsson was sixth with national record World Cup
The Chief Judge decided that she could try again. But in the rush, the Swede did not find her replacement staff. Help came from the Frenchwoman Ninon Guillon-Romarin, who had failed seconds before for the third time at 4.80 meters.
Since her competition device had the same hardness as that of Bengtsson, she let the Swede jump with her staff - and Bengtsson actually crossed the 4.80 meters. Personal best and country record for the Swede.
At 4.85 meters for the 26-year-old was over. She finished the contest in sixth, Guillon-Romarin was twelfth.
