Defending champion Muktar Edris from Ethiopia has again won gold in the World Athletics Championships in Doha over 5000 m. The 25-year-old prevailed in a fast race in 12: 58.85 minutes ahead of his countryman Selemon Barega (12: 59.70). It was the first double victory over the twelve and a half stadium rounds in World Cup history and the first gold for Ethiopia in the competitions in Qatar.
Bronze went to the Canadian Mohammed Ahmed (13: 01,11). The three Norwegian Ingebrigtsen brothers went out empty, as the best came European champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen in fifth place (13: 02,93).
