Bayern München won 7-2 (2: 1) at Tottenham Hotspur on Matchday 2 of the Champions League group stage. The opening goal by Son Heung-min (12th minute) for the Spurs was canceled out by Joshua Kimmich (15th). Robert Lewandowski scored the 2: 1 for Bayern (45th). After the break Serge Gnabry hit fourfold (53./55./83./86.). Harry Kane was able to reduce the penalty to 2: 4 (60.) After the tenth away game in the premier class in a row without defeat, the Munich remain in first place of the group B.
The Munich started in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with two changes compared to the 3-2 win in the Bundesliga at SC Paderborn: Corentin Tolisso stood for Thiago in the starting XI, on the position of the left-back returned after four weeks of injury break David Alaba back. His representative Lucas Hernández was missing because of a bruise above the right knee. The Spurs moved only once after the 2-1 win over Southampton: Dele began for Christian Eriksen.
Both teams had good chances early on, but Hugo Lloris was able to parry Serge Gnabry (2) just as well as Manuel Neuer saved Son's chance after six minutes. Son again missed four minutes later, but the third attempt was on: Tolisso lost the ball in front of the penalty area, Moussa Sissoko played the ball quickly to the right to Son, who hit Neuer with a right-footed shot into the far corner (12 ').
The reaction of the Munich followed promptly: Kimmich ran 25 meters in front of the opposing goal Tanguy Ndombele with a beautiful body blunder in the void and put the following shot class in the left corner (15). Lloris was without defense.
The Munich tried to gain possession over possession of the ball, but were repeatedly embarrassed on the defensive by interface passes and quick wing shifts of the hosts. So did in the 26th minute when Ndombele failed after a sharp cross from the right wing from central position to Neuer. However, the leading goal fell on the other side: After a confusing situation Lewandowski responded the fastest and chased the ball with a shot from 17 yards into the right corner.
At the beginning of the second half Bayern coach Niko Kovac had to change due to injury: Alaba had to stay in the cabin after a foul by Serge Aurier. Benjamin Pavard moved on the left back, Kimmich played in the back right and Thiago took over his position in the central midfield.
The first exclamation mark in the second round was played by Gnabry: irresistible, he pulled from the left wing and crowned the great solo with his first Champions League goal (53.), which he only forwarded two minutes later after a wicked loss of the Spurs in the forward movement second followed (55.). The game was spectacular now: After a foul by Kingsley Coman to Danny Rose Harry Kane turned the due foul penalty to 2: 4 (60.).
Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino brought Eriksen, who introduced himself equally splendid: Neuer could direct the long shot of the Danes just with the fingertips over the bar (66). On the other side Gnabry for the third: A wide blow from the half took the Bayern offensive player sensational and Lloris again loaded (83). Again Lewandowksi scored to 6: 2 (86.)., Gnabry in the 88th minute to 7: 2.
