World Athletics Championships: Dalilah Muhammad breaks her own world record over 400 meters hurdles

Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad could only beat herself at the first medal decision of the day. Silver over the 400 meter hurdles also won the favored Sydney McLaughlin.

Dalilah Muhammad has beaten over 400 meters at the World Athletics Championships in Doha with a time of 52.16 seconds and undercut her world record by four hundredths. The silver medal brought her 20-year-old also favored compatriot Sydney McLaughlin silver. She remained in 52.23 seconds just above the previous record. Bronze went to the Jamaican Rushell Clayton (53.74).
