Bayern Munich threatens trouble with the French national team. Because defender Lucas Hernández was nominated for the upcoming internationals, despite missing the last two club games, sports director Hasan Salihamidzic said after the match against Hoffenheim angrily. Like David Alaba, who did not travel to the Austrian national team because of a rib injury, Lucas would stay in Munich. "He will not be sent to the national team because he has a stress reaction in his knee," said Salihamidzic.
On Thursday, Niko Kovac had hoped Didier Deschamps would refrain from calling the Munich summer access. "That's not against Bayern or Kovac," said the World Cup coach of 2018. "But we also have important games, I know Lucas well enough, he is also willing to play with one leg."
A small swipe could Deschamps not resist. "Lucas has played too many games but not with me, he has made many, many games for Bayern every three days even though he came out of injury," he said. Deschamps referred to the knee operation of the 23-year-old in the spring. His debut debut for Bayern gave Hernández with a brief stint in the Cup in Cottbus, for the first time in the starting lineup, he stood on the second Bundesliga match day.
"We will inform the French national team that the player is not feeling well, that he is injured," said Salihamidzic. "And then the doctors will clarify this among themselves." A response from the French association was still out on Saturday night.
According to the Fifa and Uefa statutes, the duty to make a reservation requires clubs to make their players available to the respective associations in a nomination for international matches.
