The record champions are again in the lead, Juventus has taken the Serie A lead in a direct duel for Inter Milan. A late goal by Gonzalo Higuaín (80th minute) saw Juventus win 2-1 in Milan (1-1). Previously, Paulo Dybala had met for Juve (4th) and Lautaro Martínez for Inter (18th, penalties).
The away win places Juventus 19 points in first place in the Italian league, one point more than Inter, which had to accept the first defeat of the season.
Juventus dominated the game five days after beating Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the Champions League. Four minutes into the game, Dybala made a sharp left-footed shot into the bottom right corner, and Cristiano Ronaldo almost made it 2-0, but hit the crossbar (10 ').
Juve defender Matthijs de Ligt kicked the ball high on the right flank, but the referee was just fine for a penalty. Martínez approached and changed safely. The second round was more balanced, but the more dangerous chances were the guests. So Ronaldo met for the alleged lead (41.), but the goal did not count because of previous offside position.
In the 62nd minute, Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri brought Higuaín another attacker into the game and the decision should pay off: after preliminary work by Ronaldo and Dybala the 31-year-old scored the winner from a nil position.
