National coach Joachim Löw has responded to the numerous cancellations for the upcoming internationals against Argentina and Estonia with two more subsequent nominations. Sebastian Rudy from TSG Hoffenheim and former U21 international Robin Koch from SC Freiburg were appointed to the DFB team on Monday, as the association announced.
On Sunday, Toni Kroos, Jonas Hector and Matthias Ginter had canceled the trip to the national team injury. Striker Timo Werner also falls short due to illness. An Ilkay Gündogan's effort against Argentina is questionable because of muscular problems. Löw had initially nachnominiert Suat Serdar of FC Schalke 04, but now also brought Koch and Rudy in the team.
Koch is the third freshman
Rudy completed 27 international matches so far, last time he wore at the 2018 World Cup in Russia in a 2-1 victory over Sweden the DFB dress. Koch is a regular in the defense of SC Freiburg, with the U21 of the DFB he was last summer Vice European Champion. After Nadiem Amiri and Serdar he is the third debutant in the 21-player squad for the upcoming games. On Wednesday, Germany plays in Dortmund a friendly match against Argentina (Wednesday 20.45 clock, live ticker SPIEGEL, TV: RTL) on Sunday in the European Championship qualifier in Tallinn against Estonia (20.45 clock, live ticker SPIEGEL, TV: RTL).
For reasons of health, Löw are missing a total of eleven internationals: Leroy Sané, Julian Draxler, Leon Goretzka, Thilo Kehrer, Antonio Rüdiger, Nico Schulz, as well as goalkeeper Kevin Trapp. It is already clear that Marc-André ter Stegen and not captain Manuel Neuer against Argentina will be in goal.
