Tottenham Hotspur's French World Champion goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is unlikely to play a competitive game this year. In the Premier League game against Brighton & Hove Albion (0: 3) on Saturday, the 32-year-old had dislocated his left elbow in the third minute. As Tottenham announced, Lloris does not have to undergo surgery, but will not be able to return to team training until the end of the year.

Hugo Lloris has undergone further assessment this morning after sustaining a dislocated elbow in our match against Brighton on Saturday.

This missed the goalkeeper, inter alia, the rest of the first round in the Premier League and the return match against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Tottenham is only in ninth place in the league, lost in the premier class Spurs the first leg against Bayern 2: 7. The World Champion is likely to be replaced by Argentinian Paulo Gazzaniga.

Lloris also missed the upcoming internationals of the French national team. "This year he will not return to the field, which is practically safe," said coach Didier Deschamps training camp. Lloris will be represented by Steve Mandanda of Olympique Marseille in the upcoming European Championship qualifier on Friday against Iceland. Whether Mandanda will be three days later against Turkey between the posts of France, let Deschamps still open.
