Australia scored a remarkable 5-0 home win over Nepal in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and Asian Cup 2023 qualifiers.

Australia opened the scoring in the sixth minute through striker Jaime McLaren, who added the second goal for his team in the nineteenth minute, and then defender Harry Soutar, the third goal in the 23rd minute.

In the second half, Sutar added the fourth goal with a rebound from Nepalese defender Dinesh Rajpanshi in the 59th minute, before McLaren hat-trick in the ninety minute of the match.

Australia will face Taiwan in their next match, while Nepal play Jordan.

With this victory, Australia increased their score to 6 points from two games in the top of Group B.
