When Elisabeth Seitz had finished her first exercise on her parade-stepping bar at the Turn-World Championships in Stuttgart in the all-around final, the hope for the first German medal at this World Cup lived in the Schleyerhalle. The eight-time German champion got 14,866 points on the uneven bars and finished third. The 7,500 spectators celebrated Seitz for their rousing performance.
In the end, it was enough to sixth place, much more was not possible with 55,999 points and the best all-around placement in their World Cup career for Seitz. Gold went as expected to turn queen Simone Biles, who secured the fifth multi-fight title in her career. With 58,999 points distanced the 22-year-old all-rounder the Chinese Tang Xijing (56,899) and Angelina Melnikowa (56,399) from Russia on the bronze medal significantly.
Besides Seitz also convinced the 19 year old Sarah Voss. She finished with 54.898 points in the world class field in the run not expected tenth place.
