A few days earlier, the US athlete had already set the record of Russian tournament champion Svetlana Chorkina, who had won 20 World Cup medals. With the US team, she took gold from Russia and Italy. The Americans won the world title for the fifth time in succession. Biles has been the record world champion since her 13th title last year.
