The return of international basketball tournaments, which will be held by the West Asian Football Federation in the coming months, has provided a great incentive for local clubs to prepare their players and prepare them in proportion to the strength of competition in the upcoming tournaments.
The Secretary of the Basketball Association Dr. Daniel Zulkifli told SANA Sports Representative that based on the meeting of the West Asian Federation of the game held at the headquarters of the Syrian Olympic Committee recently approved the calendar of activities for the season 2019-2020 where it was decided to hold the Under-16 Championship for women in Syria in December and the Under-18 Championship for males in February next year.
He said that the next stage will witness intensive preparations and workshops to host the two championships to show the Syrian sport in the best way it deserves, pointing out the great efforts exerted by the Syrian Basketball Federation to return the international competitions to the game halls in Syria in addition to the return to the Arab championships again through the meetings of the General Assembly The game was recently held in China after a meeting with the Arab federations of the game to decide then the return of our teams to the front of the Arab basket.
The West Asian Basketball Federation held its meeting in Syria after a lapse of many years due to the difficult circumstances experienced by Syria in the presence of a number of member countries of the Federation in addition to the regional director of the International Basketball Association in Asia, Hagop Khajarian.
