More people than ever watched the World Cup in France. The total number of viewers on all platforms is ten-digit, and Fifa President Gianni Infantino is accordingly satisfied.

The World Cup in France has given women's football numerous medal records. Nearly a billion television viewers watched the tournament, said the World Federation Fifa. The 993.5 million fans represent a 30 percent increase over the 2015 World Cup in Canada, which saw a total of 764 million people. As a total for all platforms, the Fifa gave 1.12 billion viewers.

"The (...) World Cup was not only a sporting event, but also a cultural phenomenon, sparking unprecedented media coverage and providing women's football with a first-rate advertising platform," said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

The final between the US and the Netherlands tracked an average of 82.18 million people and 263.62 million individual viewers who stayed at least one minute. On average, the 52 World Cup matches recorded 17.27 million TV viewers. The departure of the German team in the quarter-final against Sweden tracked the Fifa numbers after 25.56 million people worldwide.
