The four Germans arrested after the Europa League match by Borussia Mönchengladbach at AS Roma are apparently free again. A club employee of the Bundesliga leaders and three fans were released on Friday, said Borussia spokesman Markus Aretz on request of the German Press Agency. The four people had previously been presented to a magistrate. A confirmation from the police was initially unknown.
According to Borussia, the club employee filmed the Italian security forces in the Gladbach fan block with his cell phone for documentation purposes. That's why he was arrested. Borussia criticized the actions of the police. According to Aretz, the association informed Uefa's security department about the incidents.
The Italian police had confirmed the arrest of four people. Two of them attacked a stadium official after the match and attacked him with flagpoles, kicks and punches. Another has thrown objects at the police. Regardless of this incident on Friday, Gladbach's sporting director Max Eberl had criticized the behavior of the supporters who lit fireworks just before the match and wrapped a part of the stadium in dense clouds of smoke.
