Premier League: Gündogan meet City, Pulisic shine at Chelsea

The favorite teams have done their duty in the Premier League. Two former professionals from Borussia Dortmund have helped shape the matchday.



Ex-Dortmunder Christian Pulisic has led Chelsea into the Premier League on Matchday 10 with a gala performance for their fourth league victory. In the 4-2 (2-0) at Burnley the US attacker scored the first three goals (21st minute / 45 / 56th) - it was his first ever competitive goals for the blues. For Burnley shortened Jay Rodriguez (86) and Dwight McNeil (89).

Chelsea is now fourth with 20 points. Pulisic is only the second American after Clint Dempsey (2012), who scored a hat-trick in the Premier League. In addition, Pulisic is the youngest player in Chelsea's history to make a hat-trick. The 21-year-old had changed in the summer for about 60 million euros from BVB to London.

Champion Manchester City has submitted in the title race with a passing victory. Against newcomers Aston Villa shortened the table second with a 3-0 (0-0) the gap to the front runner Liverpool FC on three points. The Reds will follow suit against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday (5.30pm; TV: Sky; Liveticker SPIEGEL) in the rematch of the Champions League final.
