World number three Roger Federer has withdrawn from the Paris Masters this week.
According to Reuters, Federer decided not to play two consecutive tournaments at this stage of the season and said: "I have to save my efforts as I want to continue playing in the championships of the Professionals."
The 38-year-old Swiss boosted his record by winning the Basel indoor tournament in his hometown for the tenth time yesterday.
