Bayern Munich defeated second division side VfL Bochum 2-1 (0-1) in the second round of the DFB Cup last-minute. For a long time the Munich were 0: 1 back and were on the verge of leaving.
The Bavarians started without their stars Robert Lewandowski, Philippe Coutinho and David Alaba - Alphonso Davies, the representative of the Austrian as left-back, scored the first goal with an own goal in the 36th minute. Serge Gnabry (83 minutes) and substitute Thomas Müller (89) turned the game over with their goals in the closing stages.
The absence of Lewandowski as a target player in the offensive was the game of Bayern in the first half clearly noted. Although the guests controlled the game, but came against the two four-chain Bochum hardly to Torabschlüssen. Dangerous was the second division, but lacked the VfL in the quick counterattacks precision. Two shots from Kingsley Coman (15) and Corentin Tolisso (16) were the only goal approaches of the Munich.

In the final phase Serge Gnabry turned on. In the 83rd minute, he scored the equalizer with a direct cross from a short distance from Joshua Kimmich's cross. In the 85th minute, VfL keeper Riemann narrowly avoided the deficit after a shot from the DFB attacker.
Then VfL underwent a momentous error on the defensive. A pass from the right side stopped center-back Armel Bella-Kotchap badly and prevented with a hand play that Thomas Mueller could draw free to the goal. The 17-year-old saw the red card, Bayern got a free kick - and used it for the winner: Coutinho played the ball diagonally, Tolisso found in the middle Müller, who scored the winning goal (89th).
