DFB Cup: Leipzig split Wolfsburg, Bremen leaves Heidenheim no chance

VfL Wolfsburg - RB Leipzig 0: 6 (0: 1)

RB Leipzig has won the duel of the first division at VfL Wolfsburg - and much more clearly than expected. Leipzig came to some conclusions in the opening minutes, but the visitors needed an own goal by Jeffrey Brumas (13th minute). Goalkeeper Pavao Pervan deflected the ball in a parry so that he met the defender and jumped back into his own goal. A little later, however, Leipzig had to accept a setback when captain Willi Orban had to be replaced due to injury (26).

Shortly after the break, Leipzig expanded its leadership. After a double pass with Timo Werner Marcel Sabitzer came in the penalty area to the shot, Bruma faked the ball untenable for goalkeeper Pervan (55). Forsberg succeeded shortly after after a Leipzig counterattack, the preliminary decision, on submission of Werner, he met for 3: 0 (58). Four minutes later Konrad Laimer increased to 4: 0 (62). Werner scored after his two assists before even the 5-0 and 6-0 (68./88.). Wout Weghorst only managed Wolfsburg's honorable goal (89).

Werder Bremen - 1. FC Heidenheim 4: 1 (4: 1)

It has been eight years since Werder and Heidenheim faced each other, even in the Cup. In 2011 Bundesliga club Bremen failed in the second division. Werder made it clear early on that there would be no surprise this time. Before the 20th minute, it was 3-0.

Milot Rashica put the hosts in the lead with a worthy Schlenzer (6 '), five minutes later Leonardo Bittencourt raised his debut goal for Werder. The 3-0 scored Davy Klaassen with a deflected shot (18th).

In the eastern curve, where most of the Werder fans are organized, the mood was bad despite the game's progress. During the first half parts of the ultras stopped their support first, then they left the curve.

The occasion was apparently a banner that was hung up and then cashed. Werder wrote to Twitter that the approved banner was "suspended contrary to the arrangements in an unauthorized place" was. When trying to remove it, folders have been attacked by fans. On Twitter, users wrote that the police used violence against fans.

On the pitch, Bremen continued to play dominant and offensive, Marco Friedl increased after a worthwhile combination to 4: 0, before he caused in the back for a controversial hand penalty, the Marc Schnatterer transformed (45. + 1).
