Despite her serious accident in Macau, racing driver Sophia Flörsch will once again be behind the wheel at this year's Formula 3 World Final in the Chinese Special Administrative Region. "I'm thrilled to be back in Macau," said the 18-year-old, who will start for HWA Racelab. "Until my accident, it was the greatest event I've ever driven."
Flörsch had been seriously injured on the dangerously narrow street circuit in Macau last November, suffering a fracture of the spine during an eleven-hour operation. In April she gave her race comeback.
"The track is awesome, it's so much fun to drive on it - in a Formula 3 car that's really incredible, I rode with a grin every lap," Flörsch said of her premiere last year. The Grand Prix on the city circuit will take place from 14 to 17 November.
"For me after the accident it was always clear: I want to get back in the car, and I want to go back to Macau," said Flörsch: "That it already works this year shows that you can also achieve dreams when you turn on Believes and works hard for it. "
